I know you read that title, and thought, “this guy is cracked”, but you would be wrong. You cannot make that kind of assumption just because you have not thought how environmental changes can be good.

If we take a few minutes and keep our minds open, there just might be something of value learned from this short article, and with that said; lets get to it.

Did you know that planting trees and shrubs around your home, can not only help to cool your home, but they will absorb carbon monoxide from the air, and this is a good change for the environment. A good change.

Pretty cool, huh? Now what other “good” environmental changes can we think up? How about recycling?

That would work. Instead of throwing away all of those plastic water bottles, thinking what is the gain in saving such a small plastic bottle -I have an answer, the “gain” is this: Did you know that the petroleum used to create that one “little” plastic water bottle, would have lit a 75watt light bulb, for 24 hours? 24 hours! So a “bottle saved, is 24 hours of light earned. I could not resist.

Now who can argue against that? But lets not stop with the water bottles, how about the 2-litre bottles? Sure you need to give them a quick rinse so they wont draw bees, and ants, while in storage, but the savings to the environment are so worth it. Actually, any plastic marked recyclable, or has a triangle on the bottom with a number 1, or a 2. These are all recyclable. All of which contain petroleum.

And, what about that Sunday newspaper, that was just thrown in the trash? Totally recyclable. Now your saving trees. So you are planting trees, and shrubs, and now you are even helping to save the trees that are already growing. You add this up and you are absorbing even more carbon monoxide. Now that definately makes for some very good environmental changes.

I did promise to keep this article short, so I am going to try to tie it up here with these final remarks.

It would be prudent to call your local recycling facility and learn exactly all they can take, because everything we are recycling is “not” going to the landfill, and once again we have discovered “how environmental changes can be good.

Thank you for reading another info2SaveEarth.com article. My goal here at info2saveearth.com, is to provide everyone interested in taking part in our efforts to save earth, for our grandchildrens, grandchildren, the information, and the resources to do just that.

I do not consider myself a fanatic, but I do try to do anything I can that I believe will make this world an even better place for my new granddaughter to live, and one day, hopefully, she will be thinking the same way about protecting the environment, so she can watch “her” grandchildren grow.

Please visit often and tell others to visit because…

Remember: Our best defense against global warming, and our changing environment, is education, and taking action, with that knowledge. Thank you! From: info2SaveEarth.com

Now days climate change is spoken, or written about, in pretty much every aspect of our lives. But how many people actually understand what climate change is, and how it affects us now, and will affect us, in the future?

Does anyone reading this not know the planets temperature is rising steadily? This is commonly referred to as “Global Warming”.

The planets temperature rising is just one way that will affect us and change our climate. If you follow what happens because of the planets temperature rising, thats when you really start to set up and take notice.

Suddenly someone notices there is an affect that follows the cause – The old “cause and affect” strategy. The planet warms and the ice on the planet begins to melt, but “cause and affect” does not stop there. No. The ice melts and the sea level begins to rise.

Now we know that the climate change is affecting us by:

a) Global Warming -The planet is heating up.
b) The planets ice shelves are melting, and
c) The oceans sea level is rising.

But how does these things affect us -Me and, you?

Besides the weather patterns getting very unpredictable, and in some cases extremely haphazzard, there is the issue of the melting ice. This ice melting is hazzardous to us in many ways -To name just a few: There are many species of the planet that may very likely become extinct because they are losing their habitat.

Loss of any species to the planet is, or should be, a great concern to us all.

Some of these species are hunted for food by people, and losing them is a loss of a food source in an area where food sources are very scarce. These same species are also hunted for their hides to keep people warm in climates that are extremely cold.

Here some may suggest the warming climate could be good for these people, so they are not so cold. This is such an outrageous thought and is why these kinds of articles are so important to better educate the people of our world. Because, again I point out “cause and affect”. Nothing changes without a cause and affect.

Affect: Now we discuss the rise of the worlds sea level. There are many communities that are actually below the worlds sea level, and its rising can cause horrible tragedies around the world.

Is there anyone reading this article that is not aware of what happened to a “little” community called “New Orleans”? This is just a sample of the tragedies that will be in the future if we do not take action.

How does climate change affect us? At this point, I am hopeful that my article has given you some idea. Now for the important part of this article, what can “we” -I, and you, do about it?

To be perfectly honest, I do not really believe that the affects of our climate change can be stopped, or reversed at this point, But, I do believe we can still slow its affects way down, if we will all just take action.

If your still reading and asking yourself “what can I do?” Then on behalf of my grandchildren -The eldest being two, 6-11-2009 -I want to thank you.

Lets discuss what you can do to help:

1) accept that you can help even if you have a limited income. This is the first step to actually making progress, and helping. Otherwise you would just feel too overwhelmed thinking you could not possible afford to make a difference. But there are many levels of help that you can participate in, and the most important level is the level that you participate in.

2) Choose your level of participation.

a) Costs you nothing, and will actually save you money.
To put it simply, turn off those unnecessary lights. Turn off the water while you are brushing your teeth, or shampooing your hair. Do not waste gasoline making useless trips to the store. Try to make a list and limit your trips to the store. Saves you gasoline and money you would have spent on gasoline. Try to carpool with someone that is already going to the store, or even to work. Simple things that cost you nothing.

Can we go a step better that still does not cost you any money? Sure. How about locating your local recycling facility. Now instead of adding to the problem, you are truly taking steps to alleviate it. This is not hard, and I have shown you how you can actually keep more of the money you already have.

b) is a level that would require some expenditure, the amount of expenditure would be entirely up to you.

Replace those old energy wasting light bulbs with some new energy saving light bulbs -You do not need to do them all at once, if your budget wont allow for it. You can simply switch them out as the old bulbs burnout.

Now make certain that all of your faucets, and shower heads, all have water conserving restrictors, or heads.

Get your car tuned up, and be sure and check your tires air pressure. If within your ability, look into trading off that old gas hog, for a newer model, preferably a hybrid.

Now that you know how does climate change affect us, and how you can help “affect” climate change, I hope you will share this info2SaveEarth, with everyone you know and remember to visit info2SaveEarth.com for more tips and suggestions.

With the world facing an energy crisis, it is becoming more important to try to conserve our non-renewable sources by reducing our dependency on them. We can reduce our dependancy on them by using renewable energy solutions to replace the non-renewable energy sources we use to produce electricity. Renewable energy solutions refers to those renewable energy sources that can produce power without exhausting our natural resources which are limited. There are three types of renewable energy sources: solar energy, wind energy, and hydro (water) energy all of which are viable solution to our ever depleting non-renewable energy sources.

Solar Power: The sun is the most abundant energy source on the planet and has always been a source of heat and light. Anyone can take advantage of this free source of power by using the solar power solutions at home. When using solar power at home you can reduce your power bill and you will be helping the environment as solar power does not pollute. Some of the solar power solutions at home consist of solar cookers, solar heating systems, solar hot water systems, solar lighting systems, solar dryers, and … well you get the picture we can do a lot with the suns energy.

Besides from being environmentally friendly and saving you money on those power bills solar power solutions at home is also cost effective. In a short time these systems will pay for themselves, they are low maintenance so they save time, money, and effort to maintain. Some also believe cooking with solar power is much more health for you than the conventional means of cooking.

Wind Power: The wind has been used to do a lot of work way back before Christ was even born. Windmills were used to tow boats, pump water, and even to turn large mills that crushed wheat and out to make flour. Then during the industrialization period wind mills were put to use to produce electrical power. When using wind power solutions at home, you can generate enough power to free yourself from the power companies and their ever increasing costs. The wind is another one of those excellent renewable energy sources that can help us reduce our dependency on fossil fuels.

Hydro Power: Water is yet another source of renewable energy that is abundant on our planet. Hydro power accounts for 90 percent of the renewable energy sources that we use today to create power. Dams Are built to divert the flow of rivers through water turbines which turn massive electric generators thus producing the electricity that we use on a daily basis. Although water is a renewable energy source there are problems associated with building dams. Blocking the flow of rivers adversely affects the ecosystem downstream.

With the abundance of sun light and wind we should be able to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels just by using solar power solutions at home and, if we live in a region with good air flow with wind power solutions at home.

Will electricity disappear with the extinction of our non-renewable energy sources? No, not very likely considering the renewable energy sources that we have available to us. When we think about the future of electricity, a few things come to mind.

The first thing that comes to mind is that eventually all things will be electric due to the fact that our non-renewable energy sources are nearing depletion rapidly. Without gasoline we won’t be able to drive our cars, cut our grass or use any of the things that run on gasoline unless they are electric. Today most of our electric power is produced by using our non-renewable energy sources so by making ever thing electric it will help to prolong the life of fossil fuels but sooner or later we will have to start using renewable sources of energy to produce our electricity.

Then what comes to mind knowing that eventually ever thing will be electric will be perceived as clean power because it is going to be produced with strictly renewable energy sources like solar and wind power.

Will electricity ever be wireless? Yes, Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have already conducted successful wireless electricity experiments. This brings even more things to mind when thinking about the future of electricity. Think about this, if electricity is wireless you won’t have to worry about power outages, no wires or poles for storms to topple. Consumers will have more control on how and when they want their power delivered and for those who take advantage of renewable energy sources like solar power will be totally independent of the power companies.

How long will it be before we see these advancements with electricity? Nobody can be sure when, but what is sure is that when they do start to happen consumers will gain more and more control over their power needs. The people who begin now, to use the renewable energy sources that are available will find themselves independent of the power companies much sooner than those of us that don’t act and continue to rely on the electric companies for our power needs.

When we talk about living off the grid, we are referring to using our own renewable energy sources and not needing to draw power of the electric companies’ grid. Every day you hear things like, there is a power shortage, the demand for power increases daily, non-renewable energy sources are being consumed rapidly, and environmental warnings every day about the pollution. This should be enough to tell us that the time has come to do something. So we ask, what can we do about it? Well, this is where living off the grid comes in, if everyone were to use renewable energy sources we would lower the demand on our natural resources thus making them last longer, it would help the environment because renewable energy sources do not pollute, and we could cut down or eliminate our monthly power bills.

Advantages of living off the grid are numerous, first. We can reduce our dependability on our quickly depleting natural resource. Do you like to depend on public utilities for your power needs? If you are living of the grid you would only need to rely on your renewable energy source and would no longer need to rely on the electric companies. What’s wrong with relying on the electric company? Have you ever had a party or maybe even just watching you favorite tv show and in the middle of it the power goes off? Now you find yourself cursing the power company. This wouldn’t happen if you were using an alternative power solution.

A big advantage is the amount of money you could save every month if you didn’t have to pay a power bill. Think about how it would feel if you didn’t have to worry about paying that monthly bill. With solar and wind power solutions at home you could free yourself of the power companies. In some places the excess power you produce can be put back into the grid and the power company would have to pay you for it. Wouldn’t it be great to get a check from a power company instead of having to mail them one?

Another advantage of living off the grid would be that you would be helping the environment.
Most electricity is produced by burning our natural resources like, oil, coal, natural gas, and in some cases even wood. We already know that we are nearing depletion of our natural resource so, if everyone were to start using solar or wind power solutions at home we would greatly reduce the consumption rate making the non-renewable resources last longer. Our children would not have to worry about power shortages knowing we left them renewable energy sources that will be here for a very long time.

Many people think that renewable energy sources are expensive to implement but the fact is that with the advancements in technology the costs of solar power solutions at home as well as wind power solutions at home have become affordable as well as very cost effective. In a short time these systems would pay for themselves, they are low maintenance so, they require very little in the way of maintenance expense and they will most defiantly free you from the power company grip on your check book.

If you have never given solar power solutions at home or wind power solutions at home a thought then the time to start thinking about them is now. At our present rate of consumption of nonrenewable energy sources will be depleted in about 30 to 35 years, leaving our children in the dark.

Can your house to clean, without knowing about Eco friendly products? Some of these chemicals we used to clean the air in our homes are a negative effect. If you knew when you are cleaning, I have actually been released for the health of your family in danger, do not want to change? Many people believe that to clean the house has a smell of chlorine or other cleaning products from the factory. This is not all of the case. You can choose environmentally friendly cleaning products to keep your home clean and your family safe without the “knock you down at the door” smell of some of the commercial cleaning products on the market.

What are Eco friendly products? Did you look at the ads for detergents containing organic or green. These products meet the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines for the ingredients of products that are safe for the environment. If these products do not poison there are much safer for you and your family members as well, is not it?

Just follow me, with approximately 50 – 100 Humans are cleaned by they own way. Not all options are a cleaning business in the aisles today. If you are able to do this, you can. A portion of the consideration for Eco friendly products is not to use chemicals that can affect the distribution of water and soil, and finally also to animals and humans like us.

Therefore, just check the product’s labels when you are in the store. If you want for the products that are specifically designated as an Eco-Friendly cleaning products. Most major manufacturers have come out with their own line of cleaning agents geared towards being gentler to our bodies and the earth.

In addition to buying organic products, you can also get a house cleaning. This is exactly what people do before using the products that we have today or every day were invented. The good news is that many of the ingredients already in your home.

You’ll need to invest in some spray bottles. When making homemade products, the spray bottles can be reused to make fresh solutions as often as you need to. What a great way to not only use friendlier products, but also recycle. Let’s begin with water. It will be the base for most of the products you use. Water doesn’t permanently stain and is safe for all surfaces. Different substances can be diluted with water to reduce their strength.

In order to stop Earth’s degradation the ecologists, and for several years the majority of the population has demanded for reduced production of these products and even their replacement with more environment friendly materials, such as paper or Bioplastic.

Bioplastic is a material made of renewable, raw materials, which was invented in the mid-1980. Corn, wheat, beets, sugar, potatoes and other plants, as well as vegetable oils are the main materials from which the Bioplastic is produced.

For producing a Bioplastic product only 65% of the energy consumed by producing a petroleum-based product is needed, which means that by producing only Bioplastic products we will save 35% of the energy we now waste on making traditional plastics. If we take into consideration that the annual plastic products used in only in Europe weights no less than 50 million tones we will understand why Bioplastic products are so badly needed.

In addition to that, the fact that Bioplastic are made only from natural materials guarantees that they are not toxic to the environment and while decomposing will not leach any chemicals in the soil or in the water. This shows once again that Bioplastic is conceived so as not to harm, but protect the nature.

Other good news about Bioplastic is the fact that it can be recycled, so that nothing should be lost. This means less pollution and more fresh air for the entire population.

In what regards the production there is another advantage of Bioplastic, that of being independent of the countries that export petroleum and not being affected by the fluctuations of petroleum price from the national and international market. This makes the business of producing Bioplastic a safer one.

However, not all the things are favorable to Bioplastic. The degradation of the Bioplastic is conditioned by a series of factors, which are impossible to achieve in nature. This means that in practice the Bioplastic will decompose as hard as the traditional plastic.

With growing pressure on the environment and the need for the nation to economise, it’s now more important than ever to conserve and reuse packaging.

Reusing packaging is the best form of recycling, because it doesn’t require further use of energy, either in converting or transporting the packaging prior to use.

As a specialist packaging supplies company we believe we have a duty to encourage Customers to give greater thought to the packaging they buy and make better use of the packaging materials they retain.

As a packaging supplier, does this mean fewer sales of packaging materials? On the contrary, we’re finding that Customers are more conscious about packaging generally and are more comfortable ordering packaging materials from a supplier that:

• Understands the Customers’ needs and is able to work to reduce their carbon footprint and support their sustainable environmental policy

• Offers environmentally better packaging, such as recycled, reusable and degradable packaging products

• Advises them on ways to economise on packaging and reduce the overall weight of packaging materials used

So whether you’re looking to save money or save the planet, buying the right packaging for the job, planning ahead for its re-use and using recycled packaging materials are some of the key steps to take.

The most important part of this cycle of recycled cardboard boxes is you the buyer. Without people willing to buy recycled cardboard boxes it would just end up in landfill. So make sure when you next buy packaging you ask for recycled packaging.

With this in mind, read our top 10 tips to reuse some of your packaging, save on packaging costs and also help the environment:

Make sure your packaging doesn’t cost the earth! For further information, visit http://www.davpack.co.uk or call Davpack on 01332 821200.

Davpack Top 10 Tips To Reuse Your Packaging Materials

1. Reusing Jiffy Mailing Bags
Initially, over-label and reseal with packaging tape. When the bags have been excessively written on or have a torn flap, simply place inside a paper mailing sack or lightweight polythene postal bag.

2. Reusing Cardboard Postal Tubes
Ensure that you save the end caps with the empty postal tubes, as this prevents the packaging from becoming damaged at the ends. Over-labelling is simple, but using a document enclosed envelope instead of a standard label can make the postal tube easier to clean up and reuse.

3. Reusing Cardboard Boxes
If you buy stock cardboard boxes instead of custom printed boxes, they’re easier for the next person to reuse. So instead of ordering specially printed boxes, use a peelable document enclosed label. When you open boxes, cut along the tape, rather than ripping the end open. Stack full boxes well to avoid crushing at the edges and weakening the packaging strength. When the box is empty, cut along the tape at the bottom and store flat to keep it in good condition for re-use.

4. Reusing Bubble Wrap
When using bubble wrap packaging, think about the next user. Avoid excessive use of packaging tape that’ll prevent the recipient being able to snip the tape and flatten the bubble wrap. Keep bubblewrap away from dust and moisture, so it can be re-used as protective packaging. If it becomes stuck together or torn, or is an odd shape, then simply scrunch it up to provide void fill and provide packaging protection within boxes.

5. Reuse Loosefill Chips
While buying recycled or biodegradable loosefill chips is certainly preferable to buying polystyrene chips, it’s still better to reuse the packaging you have. Store used packaging chips in a plastic bin in a cool dark environment.

6. Reusing Plastic Shopping Bags
Once again, reuse is the best policy. If you run a shop why not accept used carrier bags and reuse them? Major chains shy away from this (they might offer a competitor’s bag), and this is an area where some independent stores take the lead. If you need to buy carrier bags, look for recycled paper carriers and carrier bags made from recycled polythene – these are more sustainable than using virgin polythene packaging.

7. Reusing Corrugated Cardboard
Cardboard packaging such as corrugated paper and cardboard layer pads can be easily reused as packaging protection for other items. For example, layer pads can be saved and reused and corrugated packaging can be cut down to provide layer protection within cardboard boxes.

8. Reusing Waste Paper
Most waste paper can simply be passed through an office or industrial shredder to make handy paper loosefill. Use as packaging within boxes and parcels, to fill voids and provide cushioning.

9. Using Returnable Packaging
When delivering items to a customer, consider replacing disposable packaging material with reusable packaging. Wooden Euro pallets are a good example of how packaging can be standardised and returned to the original supplier. Likewise stackable transit containers and roll cages can reduce the use of boxes and stretch film.

10. Pass On Your Packaging Materials
If you’ve finished with a piece of packaging in good condition, why not consider handing it on to someone who can use it again? For instance, schools are often looking for donated packaging materials, to use for art and drama projects. Meanwhile, if you’ve just moved house, you could advertise your moving boxes in the free ads or make them available for the many people who buy moving boxes online.

What exactly is deriving oil prices high. Is less shortage of oil, oil production issues or simply demand for oil has sky rocketed. What we see today is only tip of iceberg. The day is not far when we will see oil barrel at $200 or more. While emerging economies are battling with established economies for control of third world oil for growth of business. The nations have started capturing untapped oil market for future expansion, along with current rising consumption of oil is the leading cause of price touching record high. What exactly, we have options for Fuel To Burn beyond Oil.

According to statistic, the America consumed 20 million barrels of petroleum every day in year 2006. This is really a big number but when we look at the numbers of China and India and other emerging economies the situation looks more grim.

There is urgency to come up with alternate fuel solution to oil, the world leaders, corporate leaders and environmentalist are working closely to create alternate fuels. The research universities are working tirelessly and corporate leaders are pumping huge amount for future fuel technologies.

We all know oil is made up of fossilized remains of ancient marine plants and animals, we also know this process takes millions of years to convert fossil into crude oil. The problem is there is a long process to get oil, where as demand for consumption is growing every minute in leaps and bounds.

Now the big question is, where do we stand if we run out oil. Already signs are not good. Refineries are running at high out put still not able to keep consumption requirements, Some of the oil rigs are running dry, sure signs of bad days. Some of the oil regions are involved in long conflict, resulting into delay and short supplies. Bottom line we no longer can depend upon on oil as major energy source.

Another factor, why alternate technologies for fuel are being pursued is the risk to environment. The most damage to earth has happened in last century, with explosion of industrial revolution and expansion of industries across all fields has created tremendous impact on global warming. People are able to see changes in environment, changing weather patterns, too much or no rain in different part of world, temperature soaring and glaciers shrinking all are signs of global warming.

The future needs are not only alternate fuel to gasoline but the future fuel has to be clean and no hazard to environment, unlike oil which creates greenhouse gases a prime reason of global warming. The next fuel will be clean, environment friendly, cheap and will be available in all countries. One more thing next generation fuel will help in reducing the tension among nations fighting for oil share.

The emerging economies China, India and Mexico are buying or leasing oil fields in Asia, Africa and Europe to keep their counties interest intact. The developed countries are busy in filling their oil reserves to safe guard national reserves. All this fight for oil and fierce competition among nation is bound to create conflict and war. The next generation fuel not only will help in reducing consumption demand but also help in keeping peace in world.

Now we have talked in length about the current issues related in respect to gap in demand supply of oil. Let’s look at alternate fuels available and which one are in research.
